We are not setting out to create a technology
framework from a blank page; instead, we
are looking to efforts around the world to make sense of learning technologies. We have
drawn upon the work of MIT Open Knowledge Initiative, Sun Microsystems’ E-Learning
Framework, the UK e-University, the Carnegie-Mellon Learning Systems Architecture
Laboratory, the IMS Global Learning Consortium and the JISC Managed Learning
Environment and Information Environment programmes. We also believe that this
framework should be constantly re-evaluated and evolved in response to outside
developments that show promise.
